Side
Effects |

Side effects
associated with Zanaflex include drowsiness,
dizziness, constipation, unusual weakness, nausea, or
dry mouth. If you have problems with dizziness, rise
slowly after you've been sitting or laying down. Side
effects that you should inform your physician about
include yellowing skin or eyes, stomach pain,
vomiting, or hallucinations. Rare side effects include
vision or hearing changes, urinary frequency or
burning, slow or irregular heartbeat, or black stool.
It is possible to experience allergic reactions while
taking Zanaflex, and the symptoms include dizziness,
rash, trouble breathing, itching, or swelling. Talk to
your pharmacist or physician if you have side effects
not listed here.

If you have a family medical
history of liver or heart disease, any allergies,
kidney disease, low blood pressure, or eye disease you
should talk to your doctor before taking Zanaflex.
Avoid excessive alcohol use while taking Zanaflex
because it can intensify side effects such as
drowsiness or dizziness. Use care when performing
tasks requiring attention such as driving motor
vehicles or operating machinery. If you are pregnant,
you should not take Zanaflex before discussing the
benefits and risks with your doctor. It is not
currently known, if Zanaflex is passed through breast
milk, so if you are breastfeeding, do not take
Zanaflex.

Interactions |

Before
taking Zanaflex, you must inform your doctor of all
medications you regularly use, including MAO
inhibitors, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers,
anti-anxiety drugs, narcotic pain relievers,
barbiturates, sleep aides, antihistamines, blood
pressure drugs, other muscle relaxants, phenothiazine
psychiatric drugs, or birth control pills. Never stop
or start any prescriptions without your physician's
clearance.

Missed Dose |
|
If you
miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as you
remember, unless it is almost time for your next dose.
If it is almost time for the next dose, just skip the
dose you missed and take only your next regularly
scheduled dose. Do not take a double dose of this
medication.

Storage |
|
Medications
such as Zanaflex should be stored at room temperature,
and should not be exposed to excessive heat, sunlight,
or moisture. As with any medication, keep Zanaflex out
of the reach of children. |
