Uses |

Flexeril
relieves muscle spasms caused by sprains, strains, or
pulls. It should be used with a health plan including
rest and physical therapy in order to relieve pain and
ease stiffness.

Flexeril
Directions |
|
Follow your doctor's orders exactly when taking Flexeril. Take
each dose with or without food. Do not use Flexeril
for more than three weeks. If you have dry mouth while
taking this drug, try sucking on hard candy or ice, or
chewing gum.

Flexeril
Side
Effects |
|
Some
patients may have side effects such as dry mouth,
dizziness, or drowsiness. Other side effects, which
are less common, include abnormal sensations, abnormal
thoughts or dreams, agitation, diarrhea, headache,
anxiety, palpitations,double vision, bloated feeling,
blurred vision, confusion, rash, constipation,
convulsions, decreased appetite, hepatitis, abnormal
heartbeats, difficulty falling or staying asleep,
sweating, difficulty speaking, disorientation,
excitement, fainting, fatigue, hallucinations,
heartburn, hives, increased heart rate, indigestion,
inflammation of the stomach, lack of coordination,
liver diseases, low blood pressure, nausea,
nervousness, fluid retention, paranoia,
depressed mood, ringing in the ears, severe allergic
reaction, aggressive behavior, stomach and intestinal
pain, swelling of the tongue or face, thirst, tingling
in hands or feet, tremors, urinating more or less than
usual, vertigo, vomiting, weakness, yellow eyes and
skin. Confusion or hallucinations sometimes occur in
older adults.

Flexeril
Warnings |
|
If you are pregnant or plan to
become pregnant, you should inform your doctor. It is
not known if Flexeril is passed through breast milk. However, Flexeril is related to tricyclic antidepressants, and
some of those drugs do appear in breast milk. If this
medication is needed for health reasons, your doctor
may advise you to discontinue breastfeeding your baby
until your treatment is completed.

Interactions |
|
Do not
combine alcohol with Flexeril. Fatal reactions may
occur if you take Flexeril in combination with
antidepressants containing MAO inhibitors. You should not take Flexeril if
you have used an MAO inhibitor within the previous 14
days. Your doctor will give you instructions for
discontinuing anything containing MAO inhibitors
before taking Flexeril. Inform your doctor if you
are using this medication with any barbiturates such
as phenobarbital Guanethidine and other drugs for
blood pressure that slow the central nervous system.

Missed Dose |
|
If you
miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as you
remember, unless it is almost time for your next dose.
If it is almost time for the next dose, just skip the
dose you missed and take only your next regularly
scheduled dose. Do not take a double dose of this
medication.

Storage |
|
Medications
such as Flexeril should be stored at room temperature,
and should not be exposed to excessive heat, sunlight,
or moisture. As with any medication, keep Flexeril out
of the reach of children. |
