Cyclobenzaprine Uses |

Cyclobenzaprine is a skeletal muscle relaxant. It
relieves localized muscle spasms but does not help
with spasms which originate from diseases in the
brain or spinal cord.

Cyclobenzaprine Directions |
|
10 mg three times a
day or 20-40 mg each day in divided doses. Do not
exceed 60 mg per day.

Cyclobenzaprine Side
Effects |
|
Typically, side effects are mild and consist of
drowsiness, dryness of the mouth, and dizziness. Rare
side effects include changes in the skin color
of the face; fast or irregular breathing; swelling
of the face, shortness of breath, tightness in
the chest, and/or wheezing; skin rash, hives, or
itching
For temporary relief of dry mouth , use sugarless
candy or gum, ice, or use a saliva substitute. If your
mouth continues to feel dry for more than 14 days,
check with your physician or dentist. Continuing
dryness of the mouth may increase the chance of dental
disease, including gum disease, tooth decay, and
fungus infections.

Cyclobenzaprine Warnings |
|
This medicine may cause some people to have blurred
vision or to become drowsy, dizzy, or less alert
than they normally are.
This medicine will add to the effects of alcohol and
other CNS depressants. Some examples of CNS
depressants are antihistamines or medicine for hay
fever, prescription pain medicine or narcotics,
sedatives, tranquilizers, or sleeping medication,
barbituates; seizure medicine, other muscle
relaxants, or anesthetics

Cyclobenzaprine Drug
Interactions |
|
Cyclobenzaprine may interact with antidepressants of
both the monoamine oxidase inhibitor class (MAOI's)
and tricyclic antidepressants, such as amitriptyline
and imipramine. If taken with those drugs, a sudden
increase in fever with convulsions is possible.

Cyclobenzaprine Missed Dose |
|
If you miss a dose of cyclobenzaprine
and you realize it within an hour of the missed dose,
take it right away, then go back to your regular
dosing schedule. But if you do not realize it until
later, skip the missed dose and go back to your
regular dosing schedule. Do not double doses.

Cyclobenzaprine Storage |
|
Cyclobenzaprine should be stored away from heat
and/or direct light. It should be kept away from
damp places, such as the bathroom, or near a sink.
As with any medication, keep cyclobenzaprine out of
the reach of children.
